In 2016, CODE41 entered the quiet and secretive world of watchmaking with a bang, by being the first brand to offer total transparency on both origin of components and materials, and cost of production. A bold move, in an industry where Swiss Made does not have to mean that the entire watch is made in Switzerland, and the connection between prices and costs can be very hard to comprehend.
This radial approach was seen by some as an ANOMALY, a descriptor that CODE41 felt perfectly described their intentions, and quickly adopted as the name for this unique brand’s first collection.
In April 2021, having sold almost 15,000 ANOMALY pieces, CODE41 refreshed the collection with the ANOMALY Evolution. Combining the technical, distinctive, and recognizable design of the ANOMALY-01, and the Swiss made movement of the ANOMALY-02 to create the very best ANOMALY to date.
Today, CODE41 are introducing the most accomplished ANOMALY to date: the ANOMALY-T4. And we should get one thing clear before going any further: the ANOMALY-T4 is not an “EVOLUTION 2”. It is a revolution!
Taking input from dedicated fans of the brand, who wanted the opportunity to admire the mechanical beauty of their watch without removing it from their wrist, the movement of the all new ANOMALY-T4 will be laid bare. Allowing you to see the beating heart of the watch from the dial side.
Along with this new development, the refinements made to the ANOMALY collection over the years remain – the reduced thickness of the case, the reinforced crown, and the transparent caseback to name but a few.
This new ANOMALY is powered by the expertly crafted “Sellita SW200-1 S a” skeleton movement, a 26 jewel, automatic calibre that’s accurate to -7/+7 seconds a day. Precise, reliable and providing up to 38 hours of power reserve, this Swiss made movement gives fans of the brand the opportunity to own a CODE41 watch with a beautiful skeletonised mechanism at a very accessible price.
From the very beginning, CODE41 have offered their customers straps made from recycled materials, including FSC recycled paper, flax, and even recycled calfskin. With the CODE41 ANOMALY-T4 they’re taking their commitment to reducing their ecological footprint even further, with a 41.5mm, 100% recycled 316L grade 4441 steel case.
Produced by Panatere, a pioneering Swiss company, the recycled 316L steel is of the highest possible quality, being made from offcuts of steel used exclusively in the Swiss medical and watchmaking industries. By making use of this 4441 grade recycled steel, the case of the ANOMALY-T4 has only one tenth the carbon footprint of a standard steel case during the production phase.
With voting on the core colourways now closed, the next stage in the creation of the CODE41 ANOMALY-T4 is the pre-order, where customers will be able to customise their watch, and take advantage of special launch pricing, starting at €1,498 including VAT.
The pre-order window opens at 3PM CET on June 29, and closes at 3PM CET on July 21. With delivery of the watches scheduled for Spring 2023.
